It's like saying "Futurama" is like "Snow Crash" (this one's a cheat - I haven't read "Snow Crash" but Wikipedia claims they share a pizza delivery theme).

I really enjoyed this book as well. I think people were expecting a light jaunt a la Office Space and didn't get what they expected.

ReplyDeleteThe review on Amazon reminds me of those teenage girls who read Wuthering Heights because it's mentioned in those vampyre books by Stephenie M. and then complain that it is SOOOOO BORING compared to the Twilight series, which is WAAAAY BETTER.
I really liked, perhaps even loved, Then We Came to the End. I have found very few people who have liked it. I can understand why the commenter compared it to The Office, but I also agree with your critique.
ReplyDeleteI think Then We Came to the End is like a modern Trollope. And I love the opening line: "We were fractious and overpaid."
