Naipaul's comments, in whatsoever circumstances they may have been said, and how much ever un-biasedly (if one forgets that Naipaul's a male!)they are considered, still ironically reek of his own hung-up and narrow attitude about women writers. What he wishes to avoid, he falls victim to that very thing!
